Same here, mother in law could not understand why I was washing the baby’s new clothes she said I was exaggerating and that it wasn’t necessary. We got some clothes from a friend of mine and I threw that in the washer as well and she said I just wanted to spend $ doing laundry because the clothes smelled clean lol ughhhh like I wanna make sure that everything is perfect for my baby girl, idk if it just smells clean but isn’t or if they used the wrong detergent or any number of things and since I had baby #1 I was taught I had to wash new clothes, towels, blankets, everything. And I continue to do it. What’s so hard to understand about that?! Lol 🙄 just cuz they didn’t do it 20 something years ago when she had my bf.

@leslyev92 I washed all of my sons clothes before delivery too. I just think about all the people who have touched those clothes in the store and the possible chemicals and such. I used drift.

@mamabird228, absolutely. If you want something done right you do it yourself!

@veronicareesehopkins677, oh same here & so far I really like drift, smells so delicate. In the past I’m unsure of what detergent I used but I know it was baby detergent & to my understanding that’s what we’re suppose to do.

I’m the 60s it was similar. My Grammy told me once she had the baby they’d take them away to the nursery. SHE couldn’t even hold them until a week later when she got out. They also gave her pills to dry out her breast milk. And Father’s weren’t allowed in the delivery room.
