Ok mommies need some advice! Our son has struggled since the age of 3 with repeat infections, ballooning and fused foreskin. Our paediatrician had us try all the creams etc before recently referring us to the urologist for a circumcision at the age of 7. Any other mommies have a child go through this at an older age? If so how was the healing process?
I understand circumcision can be a big topic of debate, but this is medically necessary and would hope no negative comments are made 🤞🏻 We’ve exhausted all the other options to remedy the issue.

My son was 9. He was a micro preemie when born and they wouldn’t do it then...so we waited and let him make the decision. He did very well. He was sore the first two days but he still played and acted fine...after a week he was back to his normal self.

@kerstie14, Thanks for sharing I really appreciate it!!! How old was your son when he had it done? Our little guy was a premie also (34 weeks) and so like your son they wouldn’t do it. Out of the question. We figured it would be fine and went on with things and it became an issue around 3. After trying all the creams etc the doctor finally asked him last month if he’d like to fix it and put an end to the infections and pain it causes. My son was very informed at the appointment and told the doctor he’d like to fix it as explained, so I’m glad he was able to be involved in the decision.

Keeping y'all in my thoughts and prayers, it's horrible how people make a huge debate over doing it or not it's not there child.. But I'm sure he'll be great afterwards.. My boys we're done b4 leaving the hospital and they we're sore about a week not sure it's the same since they we're little then but your lil man will be great no worries.. And just let me catch ANYONE trying to make a debate with you on this subject..you got this mama luv, you are the 💪est Chick when it comes to your babies

@blessed2018w9, Thanks love! It’s medically necessary and we’ve exhausted all the other options. Here it’s very hard to find doctors it seems who will do it at birth, and he was a premie anyway so wasn’t even an option.

Hey, even if its a personal choice instead of medically necessary its entirely your choice as your child's parent. You know what's best for your child. Moms who catch an attitude over this topic need to go away. I personally havent had my son circumcised because i wanted him to make that decision on his own when hes older. But thats just my thoughts for my child. I believe both sides in opinion have good reasons to do it (or not). Best of luck to your lil one! I wish him a speedy recovery and happiness from no more infections!
