I wanted drugs but I was too chicken to get a needle in my back. They gave me some crap in the iv, it began with a d. I only had it with my ds. You non chicken ladies are awesome ;) natural hurts, get the drugs!
@leenie, I WAY prefer a needle in my back over feeling that ring of fire again. With my first, my midwife didn’t tell me they didn’t do epidurals until I was in the hospital in labor. This time I have an OB and made sure he does epidurals 😂
Out of my three kids, I only had one with an epidural- my first. It was GLORIOUS. And then my next two kids decided that I was going to have really fast labors so I didn’t have time to get an epidural and good god, it was painful as hell. I remember repeatedly saying “please help me” the entire time I was pushing with DS2. I’m really hoping baby number four lets me at least have time to get an epidural before I start feeling like I’m going to die. 😩 To those of you who willingly choose to have unmedicated births, alllllllll the power to you. It’s definitely not easy!
With my first I had the iv medicine.. I was sleeping and pushing at the same time lol.. My second decided to come too quick that I for real thought I was dying.. My third the same. I did get the iv again but it was too far in that I didn't get the affect.. I thought I was gonna die for real.. I definitely felt the ring of fire..
I couldn't have the epi due to past injuries (plus me and my partner don't like the idea of an epi) I was too far gone for them to give me drugs so they just pretended to give me the gas but only had it turned a little bit so I could control my breathing. I didn't feel the ring of fire.
I had them all with my son and I’m trying hypnobabies this go around so I can go med free! The epi made my anxiety go through the roof. I don’t want anything to do with that or any of the others meds they gave me. I don’t even remember my sons birth 😞
I had a spinal to have my cerclage done and there is no way in hell I would do that willingly. I had side affects for weeks. That sucked. I’d chose a drug free birth any day over that (and I have 3 times) once you deliver, you feel 100% better. I’d rather be done with it all as soon as that baby is out. So much better for baby too.
I had an epidural with all 4.. But it only worked 100% with dd1 after that it worked less and less so with dd3 and 4 I felt everything it didn't help at all..
@laniejay, after my son was out my first thought was “Those lying assholes, it still hurts like hell!” Everyone is different! But I definitely want the drugs.

I applaud women who go all natural. I had an epidural and afterwards morphine.

I think my Dr actually injected my vag with numbing stuff so I didn't feel the ring of fire nor the stitches.
Couldn't get the epi cause of past injuries and the iv drugs were slowing ds heart down so I stopped taking them. I really wanted the drugs

I was begging for the epidural and my nurse promised me but I had my baby almost before she got the IV for fluids In 😂
