glucose test
Well I failed my 1 hour glucose test and now I have to go for a 3 hour next week........ So pissed. The one hour I took like 2 months ago I passed w flying colors. So I'm not sure why I failed this one. Ugh. And I only took it yesterday so I'm also shocked they got the results already. So angry!!!!!

they make you do a 1 HOUR twice once when you are like 16 weeks and again when you are like 26-28 weeks

I was kinda shocked when I had to do the first one cause I thought it was so early. With my son I only did it once but this place made me do it twice. And now I gotta do a 3 hour ?

Did you have gd with your last pregnancy?
With my son I had to take the one hour twice because my metabolism disease makes me more prone to gd. I passed the first 1 hour and failed the second. But I passed the 3 hour barely. I still had gd though

No I didn't have it with my first

Is it likely I will pass my 3 hour if I didn't have it with my first???

Each pregnancy is different but the one hour test is really just a screening to see if you MIGHT have it. A ton of people fail the first one. I did and last the 3 hour one with flying colors.

Ok thanks. I won't get myself all worked up unless I fail the 3 hour. ?

You may have failed becuz most of the time, gestational diabetes doesn't develop until the third trimester. I failed my one hour by ONE point and I'm currently sitting in this hospital for my 3 hour test. I've been here over an hour already and they haven't even given me the dang sugar drink yet

I have an appt at the lab next tues the 5th for my 3 hr and I'm really hoping I can leave and come back 3 hours later cause my son doesn't start school til Thursday and he will be climbing the walls if we have to actually wait there the whole 3 hours. ?

You have to stay there. The reason it's 3 hours is because they draw your blood every hour. It's 4 blood draws in all. Can you find a babysitter?
Gestational diabetes is caused by your growing placenta blocking the body's uptake of insulin. So the further along in the pregnancy, the worse it gets. There are lots of false positives with the screening, but it's best to catch it early. So that's why they sometimes test more than once.

Oh man. I did not know that. My last pregnancy I only had to do the 1 hour. Yeeesh. I guess I'll try to see if someone can watch him.
