Ok so I'm being a bit of a stress mess right now...and it's all about breastfeeding.
Ok so I'm being a bit of a stress mess right now...and it's all about breastfeeding.
With my son I ended up having an emergency c-section which led me to having ALOT of trouble with breastfeeding. So much so that after I had him we ended up in the ER (😢 still get emo thinking about it) bc my milk hadn't come in and he was hungry. Thankfully everything worked out wonderfully and he was ok...but I had to start formula feeding to supplement my lack of boobie milk. Obviously my milk eventually came in, but it wasn't ALOT so I had to do both breastmilk and formula. I know it worked out and my baby is healthy and 3yrs old weighing in at 40lbs. #bigboy
So now my stress is that what if u can't breastfeed my daughter?? Ideally I want to exclusively breastfeed, and practically be her human cow lol. But...I'm worried that it won't happen for me. Logically I know that as long as she's fed and healthy/happy I'm doing great. But emotionally I need it for myself as much as for her.
So my question to all you mamas is do you have any advice on how u can quell my stress? Or better yet do you have any advice on how I can get a good jumpstart on getting my milk to come in and flow like a river? All help is appreciated. Thanks mamas!

Hi mama, I just wanted to say that you have done a great job. Sometimes our bodies can be frustratingly uncooperative, but you go above and beyond to do what you feel is best for your babies and that’s admirable.
Try not to stress. Even if she can’t be exclusively breastfed, any breastmilk is beneficial. And if she can’t be breastfed at all, it’s okay mama! Your babies are well fed (even if entirely formula), well taken care of and loved limitlessly.
I struggled hard trying to breastfeed so some of my boys, I have five, didn’t get any breastmilk at all. But they are so healthy, happy and thriving. Their brothers that did, I was able to continue until they were 2-3 years old. I had a lot, a lot of struggles along the way. We all just do the best we can but regardless how she’s fed, she’s loved and has a mama that will do anything for her. ❤️
Things I used- I drank so much water I thought I was part fish, I ate oatmeal every morning, lots of lactation cookies and I used fenugreek. Those things did help me with my supply. Also an occasional beer helped too. The yeast in it would help my supply- don’t misunderstand I’m not saying I drank myself silly, but it is one of the things a lactation advocate had me try.
Best wishes and congrats on your baby girl to come!

Also, if you need support, advice or a place to vent- dm me anytime.
La Leche league was a huge help for me, and if you are on Facebook find the Leaky Boob- she and all the mamas there are AMAZING.
