Guys I’m stressed out! So my hunny took me and baby girl to the cabins for Mother’s Day. That was great but on the way home I’m driving and bloop my sunroof pops off. I had it open and with the weather we had yesterday ( it was super windy, raining and we had hail) it just came off. So my car no long has a sun roof which means my car will get water damage if not fix. I am still on my fathers insurance and he is telling me he does not want me to claim this but I would like to claim it because I do not have the money to pay to fix it out of pocket 🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️ idk what to do guys this is well over a $1,000 fix

This is going to sound weird, but what kind of sun roof is it? I have an aftermarket sun roof on my jeep and it did the exact same thing. But there’s actually a recall for this. It’s a webasto brand. We called the company and they sent everything over to a shop here and it was replaced within a week for free

If he doesn’t want you to claim it, then ask if he can help you pay or find someone inexpensive. Then get off his insurance so you can make your own decisions in the future. BUT this is not a accident related issue, I thought rates only go up if you’re are fault in an accident. This was weather related- which may possibly even be excluded on the policy. I would check with the dealership and see if there is a known defect in that model of car- sometimes they have replacement programs for parts (happened with my airbag- granted, sun roof is different).

@amysbabies, that’s the plan and that’s what I was trying to explain to him . I just might have to go ahead and claim it and he’s going to have to deal with it but after this incident I’m definitely getting off of his insurance
