I attempted at 2 years old, and 3 years old and he wasn’t having it. Then I tried when my son turned 4 and he is potty trained has been for about 7-8 months now. Honestly it just depends on the child. My 3 year will pee but won’t poop on the potty lol but my oldest I put him in underwear during the day and at bed we did a diaper after about a month no diapers at all. He did have accidents in bed so I bought a plastic bed cover and a bunch of extra sheets. Lasted about a month. He still has pee accidents in bed but very rarely.
Both of my boys were trained by 3. Just have to take them to the toilet, keep the diapers off (even tho I kept them for night time) & be on top of them constantly. Asking if they need to go & eventually they’ll learn. I’d wait till past 2, prevent some accidents. Especially w a boy, they take longer than girls.
After 3. When they’re truly ready, they mostly do it on their own honestly. I just helped remind him to go but at that point he knew how to hold it better.
@nikki986 Oh nice! :) Lol. That's how my daughter was, she didn't like going #2 in the potty & #1 was all she liked. I got her potty trained before she was 3. She's now 6 almost 7 lol. I forgot how to potty train 🤦 I've recently tried training my son and see how he acts. He only likes to poo on the potty. Lol.
I have him in undies during the day and Diapers for night and outside. I thought about the plastic bed covers and those plastic covers for diapers or whatever. Never heard of them until Isaw them at Walmart last night. Lol.
