My almost 2 year old suddenly plays by herself a lot more. She does things like pretend to have tea parties or play with her kitchen set or Go! Go! Animals set. My husband thinks it's sad and that she probably wants us to interact more, but I think she likes just doing her own thing sometimes. Do you feel bad when your child plays by themselves? Am I a lazy parent for letting this go on? I honestly think she likes it.

My one year old plays by himself all the time. Even before my youngest was born, my doctor said it was a good thing.

I initially told my husband that she was having independent play which is a great thing, but then I googled "independent play". That sounds way more structured than what we have going on. Is it still independent play if I'm in the same room as her with her little sister?
