@hailcoop, hey boo! 😘. With my last 2 babies, I had one to confirm pregnancy... and one at 20 weeks. This pregnancy, I’m considered high risk so I have one every 4 weeks. You can ask the doctor but if she doesn’t see a reason, she may not do it. It definitely doesn’t hurt to ask though.
If you’re high risk you’ll get an ultrasound every other week here but if not you only get two your entire pregnancy. I got my first at 14 weeks and my second at 20 weeks to confirm gender, I’ve thought about going to baby flix to see how big my baby is now. You could always check around your area to see if there are any places that do ultrasound they’re relatively cheap around here.
My first baby I didn't, he was born huge and it was a hard delivery, my second baby (new dr.) I received one at 30 weeks and one at 38 weeks to check her weight, and will be doing the same with this baby, every Dr. is different, and depending on what your insurance will allow to cover, you can request one and see what your Dr. Says. Be sure to voice your concerns/reasonings for wanting one😊
My doctor is giving me one next week at almost 32 weeks pregnant to see how my baby is growing since he’s measuring quite small but that’s the only reason. Other then that I’ve gotten sonos to check position and fluid around 39-40 weeks since I am always overdue. It really depends on the doctor you have.
It depends on your doctor and how they choose to do things. Here it is not normal. If you don't have a history of complications you will only have 2 ultrasounds your entire pregnancy. One at your first appointment to confirm and one at 20 weeks. I have never had an ultrasound after the anatomy scan. They can feel the position baby is in from your stomach. My doctor labels me high risk for the first trimester and if everything goes well will take me off around 14 weeks. With this baby I had an ultrasound at 6, 8 and 10 weeks. Doppler listen at 12 and 14 weeks. I had my anatomy scan on Friday one day short of 19 weeks. This baby will also have an echo fetal cardiogram in about a month from now. Waiting for my doctor to call to tell me if I need to go to the heart hospital for it or if they can do it at their office. But that will be the last until birth.
It depends on ur doc and insurance with all 6 of my kids I've only ever had an ultrasound at the end with 2 of them and that was to check their position 1 my doc was confirming she was breached and the other cause he couldn't tell if he was head down by feeling
