Any of you ladies been on the depo shot and not have a period?

🙋 my period stopped and never came back. Even after getting off of it. Then I got pregnant and didn't know until 7 months later because it was normal not to have a period 😂 surprise!

@bodybycheetos, I switched from nexplanon to the depo shot until I get my tubes tied and I haven’t started my period yet 🤦🏻‍♀️ last time it made me bleed for 6 months straight... you got pregnant while on it?

@mommy_x3, I got pregnant with vinny on it. Didn’t know I was pregnant because I was on depo and didn’t have no periods but I was feeling sick all the time took a test and boom bam I was pregnant . Both my kids are birth control babies. Aliyah was birth control pills and vinny was depo but it is rare to get pregnant on depo but I never had a period , but I’m on it again and I get my period

Yap, and I completely stopped having periods. It was the best.

@mommieof2babies, oh gosh don’t tell me that lol I’ve only had one period since having Eliana and I should’ve started mine by now 🤦🏻‍♀️ I’m guessing maybe my body is just adjusting to it 🤔

@mommy_x3, yeah but depo usually stops you from ovulating and stops your period before I got pregnant with vinny on I was on it for awhile maybe 3 years with no period but like I said it’s rare for someone to get pregnant the chances to get pregnant on is so low I was just one of the few to get pregnant with it , but I’m assuming the first time you got the depo you had it?? Because when I first got it for the first time I still had my period and then it stopped

@mommy_x3 Yeah, but I was on it over 5 years and my new ob told I was on for to long and could have went stair-rel. Sorry, can't spell.

@mommy_x3, once you get off it , it’s takes your body 6 months to a year if not more to go back to normal because your body been on it for long it’s used to it well that’s if you want to get pregnant but I know you getting your tubes tied so no need to worry

@mommieof2babies, yeah I’m just on it so I don’t get pregnant while waiting to get my tubal lol my doctor told me I needed to be on something cause I get pregnant too easy 😂

I started getting depo at 18 and it stopped my period, very rare that I would spot or it came down for like 2 days not heavy. I missed a shot and 5 months later got pregnant once I gave birth I got right back on and no period. My period would only come down if I’m really stress out. Like right now but again it’s just spotting nothing more and light cramps (so depo here for 7 Year’s counting)

@mommy_x3 Yes it can. But it was my favorite birth control. Never missed it and no periods or mood swings, nothing. I was actually doing better as a person.

@mommy_x3 Ueah, and no I had nothing but good when I was on it.

I took depo once after my second son, didn’t have a period for a year and a half. I was bloated and in pain, plus I gained 85lbs on it!

I had the worse side effects with depo after my last pregnancy 😣

@mommy_x3 headaches, breast tenderness, bloating, weight gain 😐 and the worse of all I just slowed down bleeding since January, I been a complete train wreck. Ughhh

@mommy_x3, lol so he is in doubt still? When you gonna get them done? I want one more but I don’t I want to get my tubes tied also but I don’t I want another baby girl since hubby got Aliyah his son by another lady and then vinny so I want another girl to tie it then I’m done

But when I had it a few years back it was great, now it's a totally different story

@mommy_x3, wow it’s almost here and at least when vinny is 2 1/2 or 3 and when Aliyah is 6 soo probably in the next year to two years and I’m hoping for a girl when we try but I’ll be happy either way just really deep down hoping for a girl

I had it before my miscarriage. I hate it in my opinion. I stopped having my period the month after. And 2 months later I got pregnant with twins which I sadly lost. Just careful with that shot it supposed to last 3 months but sometimes it just fails you

@mommy_x3, I’ve been bloated asf too. I’ve been on it for 4 months now and I’m watching the scale I don’t want to gain a lot of weight.

@blessedmommy-2, how long were you on it when you got pregnant? My husband thinks I am for some odd reason but I haven’t heard a lot of women get pregnant on it so that’s why I chose it.

@blessedmommy-2, so sorry to hear that!! I’ve been on it a for probably a month now and should’ve started my period by now.. I’m thinking maybe just my body still getting used to it!?

@zanesworld9496, I’ve only been on it nearly a month but the past couple weeks good grief the bloat is the worst 😩 I’ve heard a lot of people say it makes you gain weight 😬

@zanesworld9496, I had it for the full 3 months but didn’t know I got pregnant till I started bleeding for a whole month and they found out I was having a miscarriage through the shot. @mommy_x3, thank you so much. And once you get it your period last for about a week and then completely stops for life if you keep getting the shot if you stop getting the shot then your period will come back but not always at the same time it can come back 2xs in a month or no times at all and on different dates

@blessedmommy-2, I’m only on it as a back up til I get my tubes tied! I’ll only have one shot, so I’m sure I’ll probably be getting regular periods again after the shot is out of my system 👎🏻

@mommy_x3, I hated it and I didn’t have symptoms until the beginning of the third month.

@mommy_x3, I think a year or two. Before I ever got pregnant it was the most amazing BC (I got pregnant because we were trying and I didn’t go get the shot). After my first pregnancy I got back on the shot and I gained a little bit of weight and really just felt miserable. I don’t know what my plan is after this baby, I really don’t want to get on any BC but I also don’t wanna get pregnant again lol

I used to be able to, until the beginning of last year when I got diagnosed with my blood clotting disorder. 😑 so my hubby has to get fixed or it will be all condoms. Lol
