Has anyone had natural birth after emergency c section? My hubby wants me to go down the c section…

I had a emergency c-section on my daughter 3years ago. I'm going to try and have a natural this pregnancy. Think it all depends what you feel comfortable with and what your doctor/midwife thinks is best.

I had an emergency c section on my first and tried for natural on my second but ended up with another emergency. I'll be having a planned section on this baby.

My friend however had an emergency on her 1st and had a successful VBAC on her 2nd.

Did you dilate well on your first? I think it all depends on how your first labour went really. For both of mine I failed to progress but my friend got to 9cm the first time.

I was induced due to pre eclampsia first time round and after 3 days (with epidural!) I had only progressed to 2cm and developed HELLP syndrome.

So I think my hubby worried I may not dilate again this time and judging by what you said he may be right!

@mzcat11 it's a tough one as you were induced so it might just be that your body didn't respond well to the induction. I'd just write down some questions for the consultant and ask them to give you an honest opinion on the likelihood of success.

I don't regret trying for a VBAC last time and I think your more prepared mentally for a section if you've been there before. I just always think of the recovery time.

this time as similar to you my DH has basically begged me to. I haven't seen my consultant yet though so I might change my mind but I don't think they like VBAC after 2 sections.

@missmysleep, yea I guess there’s no harm in trying for natural and seeing how it goes. Like you tho the recovery period is really putting me off choosing a c section without even trying vbac especially as this time we have a toddler!
