Has anyone ever had another man sign your baby's birth certificate

It’s illegal and if the bio father ever showed up even 20 years from now and claimed you purposefully lied you can get in trouble for lying in a legal document

You just leave it blank and then have the person you want to be Dad do a step child adoption

@zasmommy332, I’ve seen millions of people do it idk if it’s illegal but if your with the guy and he wants to sign it oh well let him sign that thing there’s no way they can prove that you absolutely knew he wasn’t the father and u let him sign it anyway

Hey mama my husband signed the birth cirtificate for all my babies!! Long story not getting into it. Neosha is the only one that is his biological babe and he loves all three of his babies!! And such a great father !! Do what feels right for you and daddy hugs mama!!

@zasmommy332 You realize that by doing that you won’t have a leg to stand on if he decides to up and leave with your kid, right? This isn’t about “excluding” your partner, it’s about protecting your child. Anyone who would forge a legal document in order to give parental rights to someone they’ve been with <2 years needs their head examined.

@wafflespancakes, there is a huge difference between those and if the guy she is with is who has been there for her and that baby then he has every damn right to be on that birth certificate obviously the sperm donor isn’t anywhere

For everybody saying it illegal its not but its not . That's why ANYONE CAN SIGN . Ive seen /heard it done before ,also the person who signs will be legally responsible for the child if he signs whether or not the child is his or you or him decide to break up. He will legally have to pay child support since he signed.

I would never allow someone to sign my child's birth certificate, if they aren't the bio father . I suggest keeping it blank until later in life if he wishes to pursue  adoption
