Mamas when can I start forward facing my son? He seems a little crammed rear facing

At least 2 years old

How long is he? Some people rear face until 4 or longer. Maybe he looks cramped, but he really isn't. What kind of seat do you have? Maybe you can adjust the recline some and see if that helps.

I switched my son at a year, but he was the size of a 2 year old though 🤷 he's 4 now and the size of a 6 year old.

At the very least 2 years

I switched my daughter at a year because she was maxed in her height and her knees were at her chest and she hated not being apart of the car rides

@nicolealison, she was 40lbs at a year? All convertible car seats rearface until at least 40lbs. The reason they say to rearface longer is so the neck bone can develop better because a 1 year old has a way higher risk for internal decapitation than a 2 year old. The longer they rearface the safer they’ll be in an accident.

After her first birthday we went on a trip to Idaho and I bought her a forward facing seat just for that trip so she’d have leg room to sleep comfortably and she loved it, it made car rides so much more enjoyable for her and just never went back
