Wondering if anyone here has experience of their child having a sudden onset of a squint? What was the outcome? It’s been like this almost constantly since the beginning of March and we’ve got an orthoptics appointment in a couple of weeks
@whiteford.lisa05, I used to wear eyepatches too for a lazy but mine I had to wear at primary school 😫 x
@anneliese18, I think it wasn’t until nursery that I had glasses and the patch so about 3/4 can maybe do it younger now tho or they might just start way the patch, I had issues in both my eyes so needed glasses regardless x
How old were you when you had that? I feel that being so young it will be hard to keep anything on his face 🤦🏼♀️
Squint means turn in the eye, we’ve seen multiple professionals (optician, gp, ophthalmologist etc) and been told he has an accommodative squint. We’ve waited over 2 months for this referral to come through so was just wondering if anyone has been in the same situation 🙂
I would say that’s more of a turn in the eye rather than a squint or a ‘lazy eye’ I would maybe speak to a gp or health visitior and see what they suggest
@georgina-ox, my niece is the same, she’s 6 and already had an operation and had glasses since she was about 2 but it’s still quite turned in.
He barely keeps his bloody socks on so I’d have a field day trying to keep patches/glasses on him 🙄😂
