When is baby’s umbilical cord, ‘stump’ suppose to come off. He’s only 4 days old & I’m worried!

Can take a week or more

My sons took three weeks, my daughters took two weeks

My sons took 7 days my mother in law said that her kids took 10 to 14 days to fall off every baby is different just keep taking Q tips and putting Vaseline on his belly button but use alcohol wipes to clean it first and then do the vaseline. 🙂

I forgot to mention it came off just now.....

@amberjacq, @ash621, @kambam, @destineemh, I remember with my oldest it didn’t come off this early. The stump is actually pretty dry, & it doesn’t look infected. He has an appt in the morning

My son's was off by then. Maybe sooner. Yep just keep it dry and it will heal all the way
