Results are only wrong if you dont do it right. Most of the time they are wrong because people take them in Male contaminated place and not sterile as it would be if did at doctors office.
Oh, it works because the baby’s blood and your blood mix. This looks for the Y chromosome (meaning boy) in your blood. That means it’s a boy. If no Y chromosome is detected then it’s a girl.
I've heard that they're being sued because their results are wrong half the time.
They will send you a kit in the mail. Do not let any males come into contact with anything including the box because it can contaminate it. There will be step by step instructions on how to disinfect the area you’ll do the test in. You’ll clean and prick your finger and fill up a plastic vial. Not gonna lie, it’s quite a lot of blood you have to get out to fill it with. You’ll seal it up, fill out the info card and mail it back. Took about 4-5 days for results to come through email.
I did a it at a little over 9 weeks and all scans still show he’s a boy.
I’m going to do it after we get the anatomy scan next week just to double confirm
I did it with my second and it was accurate. Did it with this one and I’ll confirm with an ultrasound next week.
Thank you guys for the replies! I can’t wait to do it!
