Any moms have advice on first round of shots for their baby? I have heard they may get a fever and not feel well, but I would appreciate any stories that may help prepare me, or am I overreacting?

Its very common. Sometimes it doesnt happen. Just be prepared incase she does. My dd never got a fever/sick her first shots. She just slept a lot.

Some shots hurt more than others. DTaP is a pretty painful one, so be careful of that leg during diaper changes and such.
If you breastfeed, let the baby comfort nurse as much as they want. They will probably sleep quite a bit more, and be crankier.

If you decide to get them get them 1 or 2 at a time dont give all 5 at once if your doc allows you to do that... thats just my advice thats what I did 😊

You can never overreact when it comes to the health of your baby but I thought my son would get sick or run a fever and he didn’t he was just fussy the rest of the day and night because his leg was sore of course but other then that he didn’t run a fever or anything and I didn’t have to give him any medicine because him being a little fussy from being sore isn’t a problem for me because I just sat with him all day and did nothing else just focused on him and gave him all the attention and love because I knew he was sore and it made him feel better having me cuddle him and play with him and talk to him all day and it was great bonding time together, I try not to give him medicine if I don’t have to if he would of had a fever I would of gave him some baby Tylenol to help it but thankfully he didn’t have one at all and hopefully your baby won’t have a fever either, my sisters son had a fever when he got his shots and she didn’t know about baby Tylenol so she had to deal with a fussy sick baby all day and night when she told me that I felt bad for her because I know how hard it is dealing with a screaming baby

My first had zero issues with shots. No fever, no fussiness. My other one was the opposite. It really just depends on the baby. Do not give Tylenol before either...doesn't do anything. Just wait and see how she does. Try not to worry too much. Usually it's not a scary reaction

Mine just hated them because they hurt but he cried for only a minute or 2. What I did was plan his feeding around the appointment so when he was done with the shots I gave him his bottle and blanket right away and he was fine, I did the same with all his shots until he didn't have a bottle anymore but the blanket and a cuddle hug seemed to work just fine
