Do you qualify for food stamps/WIC ?

I had gd with my last 2 babies. I’m sure I’ll have it this time as well. I had a hard time keeping my sugars stable with my last baby and we delivered in Norwalk Ohio (very small hospital) they weren’t equipped to handle it so he was flown to Toledo bc his sugar was low...he was there for three days and good to go. Don’t stress if your baby does need nici time it won’t be that long and I see your in Toledo Ohio (I was so pleased with that hospital) everything will be ok momma

If you are having trouble paying for the food, apply for WIC (or food stamps/ebt). Are you going to a special diabetic class or appointments? The ones I went to last pregnancy, I still remember the first meeting, they asked if you are having trouble paying for food. When pregnant and especially with a medical condition, I think they can help you qualify even if you typically wouldn’t. Don’t be shy! Ask!!!

I do get food stamps and wic But I only get 200 for food stamps. My boyfriend literally makes enough for bills and gas for the week. The hospital I'm at doesn't have a nicu. He's most likely go to Toledo hospital. 200 is two weeks of food for me and my family. It sucks. Nearly not enough honestly.

@kerstie14 yeah that's where my son will more likely go. The hospital I'm at doesn't have a nicu. It is a nice hospital. Very big!!

@nicky.tibble, they are amazing and they were so good with Samuel. Baby will be okay. Have they tried you on any meds? I was on a pill the last 6 weeks and it did help.

@kerstie14 no they haven't. I usually walk when my sugar is high in the 200s. It goes down yo normal after walking for an hour or so. I'm due in June so I think it may be too late for meds???

@nicky.tibble, is ask for them. It’s worth a shot it may really help. I remember my sugar getting over 200 and I literally felt like I couldn’t move it’s an awful feeling.
