With my son his dad & dads folks were MIA so this is soooo new to me. I don’t even know how to respond trying not to be rude like I really don’t care about your opinion!!

@leviandaustins.mom well, not normal. Let’s say, common. With my daughter now I had no issues because we were all on the same page but with my ex husband and my 2 sons his whole damn family had a say about the name and would offer other names when I had already said “this is the name” like they would say “oh but this is cute, what do you think about this name” like did you not understand the words that came out of my mouth?! lol so annoying. We ended up naming our babies what we wanted, they are weird names but I personally love them and my kids do too so it’s all good, in the end that’s what matters. Look at me now, his family has nothing to do with me lol and then I would’ve named my child after what they thought was “better”

I’m like, if you have a say, get pregnant yourself! With our last we didn’t discuss with anyone besides ourselves. When we went to tell his mom, she said “wait wait wait don’t tell me, I have some suggestions!” I was like, sorry- we already decided. This time around we are doing the same.... but if it’s a boy, it will be my husbands name to keep with family tradition. That reminds me!!! His family also asked why we didn’t use any of their family names for our first—- I said, well the last name is pretty obvious, and if our next is a boy, it will be the whole family name, so it is only fair our daughter has a middle name of my family—- first name was unique.
