@tiffanyxbrooks, dogs have glands right inside their butt holes that releases a smell when they poop. Think of a skunk. They have glands in their butts that they express when threatened. Dogs have them too. They will express them if they get scared enough. Some breeds have more problems with them then others. We used to express them whenever a dog was under anesthesia. Or If they were having a problem. Like scooting their butts on the ground can be a sign that they waste too full and need to be expressed.

If he’s still scooting I’d try to finish them. They can get impacted. That can lead to an infection
