What do y'all do about your baby fussing/crying to be picked up. I always just pick her up but I feel like that's just making it worse. I love holding her but sometimes mommy has things to do. She will have a straight face and no tears fussing and then start crying like the world is ending and as soon as I pick her she is so content. I love her and her love for me and I know you "can't spoil a baby" but this is getting to be ridiculous. Ive seen her play by herself or suck on her hands or focus on something so I know she's able to sit in her chair right next to me while I do something for 5 minutes. I joke with her that her 4th trimester is almost over so she going to have to cut it out lol she just laughs like if you say so mommy 😒

Pick her up. You cant spoil a newborn. She obviously needs you.

@kbbaybee16 I know you can't spoil a newborn but here's the thing, soon she won't even be a newborn and also she needs me but I'll be standing right by her washing her bottles or getting dressed or something. Should I just never do anything? I need to know lol

@dankerson maybe you can baby wear? Read about the 4th trimester. I know you need to get things done. Babies dont cry cuz they want to. They cry cuz they need something. It could be gas, hungry, wet, belly ache etc. I know its hard ive been there. It really does get better

@kbbaybee16 thank you I got a baby ktan but I tried to make a bowl of cereal once with her in it and she was bawling. I have read about the 4th trimester thats why its conflicting I want to hold her all the time but she will be 3 months on the 11th and she seems way passed her newborn stage if you get what I mean. It is really hard because I never want to put her down but I'm going to try to figure out if its gas because of the way she instantly stops when I pick her up she is not hungry or wet so it must be that

Wear one of those carriers and do things around the house with her in the carrier. My 6M old girl is definitely more independent when she is awake and happy..she sits and plays on her own, but still likes to be held when she is tired...so if I'm in the middle of doing something and she needs me,I just slip her into the carrier and go about my business!

Honestly it doesn’t hurt to let babies cry. I wish I would have just let my daughter lay in her swing or whatever and let her cry a little cause she is now 10months and she feels like she needs to be held 24/7 it won’t hurt to pick her up when she gets super super cranky but if it’s tolerable then she will be ok till you’re finish getting dressed, washing bottles, cleaning up a little

I was always taught to just pick her up and handle her needs because she doesn’t cry for no reason. My mom said take advantage of it because soon they won’t want to be held or they’ll be too big 🙂

This is how my son was and still is at 14 months old. Baby wearing helps, not much else does for me. He is just a clingy little dude. But yeah, baby wearing has saved a little bit of my sanity.

I agree with @nlock, its ok to let babies cry, sometimes they just need to and eventually they will have to learn to self soothe or they'll never stop. If she's fed, changed, and not tired, then you did your job and she's ok. Babies just cry it's what they do. I know it's hard and frustrating but it's normal and they don't always need something, they really don't. I let my son cry sometimes when I needed to do things and eventually he would stop and focus on something else... I just gave him toys and a bottle and put his vibrations on in his bouncer and that's all it took.
