I had to cancel my insurance for that reason deductible too high I now have Medicaid

Every visit was 245.00 and I’m high risk sooo I had to go to appointment

@resadewitt22234, that was just ultrasound my deductible for labor and dleiveray was 3900 had to be paid by 6/28 I cancelled that insurance so fast

@resadewitt22234, I had to pay 581 which is what I owed for visit and now I have Medicaid I had Medicaid since December but they found out about my primary insurance so they wouldn’t cover me

If you just wanna know the sex of the baby.. Google ultrasound studio in your area.. usually for just a simple boy/girl check is $35... But if you qualify for Medicaid, get it😉

Why do they need you to pay a deductible of 3000? Maternity care like ultrasounds are usually covered. Also you have to qualify for medicaid in order to get it since it is government assistance, they will require to know why you canceled the current insurance you are with. Did you buy it or does your job offer it?

Well I’m not 26 yet so I’m still on my parents insurance

Who told you that your doctors office or insurance itself? Thats really wierd I work with insurances all the time and have never heard of an insurance requiring the patien to pay the full amount just for something simple like an anatomy scan. Usually they only do things like that for surgerys. I would deff look into it

@resadewitt22234 I would definitely call your insurance and verify with them like I said it seems real sketchy that they would do that to you for just an anatomy scan! Because even for your delivery you will have to pay the deductible but they wont make you pay it before you deliver.. not sure if that maked any sense lol

Same thing happened to me and I did Medicaid, and got it within 10 days

You automatically qualify for Medicaid if you are pregnant no matter how far you are along
