So I’m probably not being sensitive enough to other people’s situations right now but am I wrong to find it highly aggravating to see someone panhandling with a tiny baby in tow. I mean not only is it dangerous with traffic but the weather isn’t such that a baby should be spending the whole day in the hot SoCal sun. Everyone is giving the lady donations of food and money etc to get the baby off the street but here it is 6 hrs later and baby is still on the same corner
I mean we don’t know her situation. What if she has no family or friends and she sleeps at the shelter but tries to go out during the day to make a few bucks to try and get out of the shelter. I try not to judge because I don’t know anything about her situation. And I definitely wouldn’t assume she was doing it for sympathy just because someone else may have done it. I’m sure it was very humbling and embarrassing for her to be out there with her baby asking strangers for help.
It just bugs me because that baby has zero say but had to sit in the heat for 6 hrs that I know of. It was above 90 today too
Most often the rest of the family is in a nearby car watching. And I hate to say it, but it’s usually just a scam. They aren’t actually homeless. They just use their kids to pull on the heart strings so people give them money. It’s awful.
See that’s what’s getting me you want panhandle whatever that’s on you but that poor baby should be inside and safe not on the damn corner in the heat
Her little sign says there are 2 kids but only the baby is out on the street it’s been so hot today and baby is in winter thick fuzzy pjs
She clearly doesn’t know how to care for her child especially if she’s putting her in a warm fuzzy pjs in the hot sun. Could she be mentally unstable like a lot of homeless people are or does she seem to be all there? Honestly I’d call the cops because someone needs to speak up for those kids when their moms clearly using them for attention because she won’t go to a shelter like she’s been directed to. It’s sad and disgusting but some mothers aren’t good or just don’t know so id call the cops about your concern for the baby. Those kids don’t need to be out there. I work with the homeless a lot especially when I lived in Houston and the street is no place for a baby especially when there are facilities provided to help. At least get the baby out the onesie and out the sun! I know she didn’t choose that life and no one wants to beg but that baby can’t be in that heat like that
