Question. Any momma's that have had preeclampsia, can you please tell me how it came about to you…

@gummybear728, I had high blood pressure, seriously swelling of my face, hands and feet, and also would see black dots in my vision. Then my doc made me do a 24 hour urine analysts. And there were 3000 grams of protein in my urine. I was induced in the next 12 hours.

@cowgirl2790 thank you. The reason I ask is because I have low blood pressure. It was 82/43 after 4 bags of IV fluids. I don't have swelling, then again I'm only 13 weeks. I do however get black spots in my vision. And my magnesium is really low. (My blood pressure is usually 110/85. )

You asked about pre eclampsia, but you're bp is low, are you scared that it might go high? If your doctor has ruled out an underlying issue that's making it low, you could try eating more salt, and drinking more water. But of course, ask your doc first before making changes to your diet

@sweetsap88 I'm asking about preeclampsia because I don't know much about it. So I'm asking ladies who have had it to tell me what is involved with it. I haven't seen my doctor yet. I was at ER Last night. They just told me to take magnesium pills and keep up on fluids. I had a friend mention preeclampsia but since I don't know anything about it, I want to do research and find out what causes it and such.

@gummybear728 I was just scratching my head because preeclampsia is when bp is 130/80 I think, so you'd have a good way to go before you are there. Standard is 120/80 so like you said, yours is low. So far I have normal bp (knock on wood) so I'm of no help :( but I was just wondering if you were scared to go up high or soemthing

I wanted to ask if you thought preeclampsia was just blood pressure that was considered abnormal, lol, but I didnt wanna come off as a moron. Yeah, it's only high bp

@sweetsap88 yeah that's what I was thinking originally. Like I said, I don't know much about it. That's why I wanted to ask on here and see what momma's have gone through and what the symptoms are. Thank you by the way

@gummybear728, well typically it doesn’t develop until after 30 weeks. And it has nothing to do with low bp. It’s high bp. I’ve had it with 2 of my pregnancies. Probably would have with all three but last pregnancy only made it to 20 weeks. My bp were really high like 160/85!

The main symptoms are usually high BP, swelling above the waist (like hands or face) or one sided swelling (like only one foot and not the other), changes in vision like floaties, black spots or blurriness, high protein in urine, and headaches that don’t go away with hydration or Tylenol. I don’t have preeclampsia but I have a lot of the symptoms so my doctors are watching me pretty close and those are the things they told me to look out for @gummybear728,
