I will say it fit well in my 13 focus and now in my 18 escape :)

Chicco nextfit is what we used! It reclines on its own leveling frame so your not losing space! This was the best seat for infant and now using for my 3 yr old! She has really long legs and the bucket style to this seat keeps her deep inside and her legs don't hang out like some of the others! It was well worth the price tag!

@nerdymommyplus2, thank you!! & yea. I think I’ll try to find a convertible slim fit for the new baby. I don’t see me pulling a car seat out at every stop. But I might like that option.

So cosco elite doesn't fit newborns well.... So that's not an option

Cosco elite 3 in 1 is pretty slim but I'm not sure how it fits newborns. I'll have to check. However installing rearfacing is a challenge. But honestly that's with all cosco convertibles IMO

My sister is in the same boat and she was able to find a chart online somewhere that labeled car seats by width. I know she has been looking into a chico keyfit but there were a couple other brands that are a bit slimmer as well.

@nerdymommyplus2, I was thinking about the Graco ways. It’s not expensive either!

The graco slim fits are nice. But you really don’t need convertibles for the 2 forward facers. The Harmony Defender is a nice option. Your backseat isn’t tiny but it isn’t huge either.

My Graco ways is pretty slim is forward facing.

As for rearfacing my sister has the Graco extend to fit and it's not very wide.
