How long did you all wait before announcing your pregnancy? It’s so hard bc we “known” for what feels like a long time but I’m still so early. I was thinking 8wks for friends and family and 12wks for social media?
I was 8 weeks for friends and family. But my circumstances make it so that I can’t make it official on social media until my baby daddy’s adoption goes through. But I would say that sounds about right! I mean you find out the gender around 20 weeks so 8weeks before then let’s the news soak in before gender reveals and then the baby shower
@cshell1982, we have had two kids and are now pregnant with a third after two rounds of ivf. We always announce at 8 weeks. My feeling is it’s really hard to keep the secret because we’re super excited and if God forbid something should happen to the pregnancy, others are aware and can support and comfort us. I think you should do what you want. Mother’s Day would be an awesome day to announce!
I have always told special family and friends little after I found out and then announce it on social media that are waited to have a little picture to put on social media but it's all up to you.
I usually wait till 12 weeks but due to almost having lost my last baby at 17 weeks due to shortened cervix and having an emergency cerclage save her life I’m waiting till 20 weeks with this one. Announce whenever you feel comfortable enough.
We told our family the day of the beta.. they knew we did our embryo transfer so they were hounding us for results. I wanted to wait until 20 weeks to announce via social media due to a 18 weeks loss but it’s DH’s first baby and he was super excited and announced at 7 weeks.i decided to just enjoy this pregnancy no matter how long it lasted. I’m almost 18 weeks now and so far so good.
We told family and close friends at 8 weeks after seeing the heartbeat. A couple of people knew beforehand because they knew when we were transferring and testing. We told more family when we saw the heartbeat again at 10 weeks. We’ll tell a few more people now but for the rest will just have to wait till they see a bump. We’re not doing a social media announcement.
We told family and close friends after the first ultrasound at 6 weeks (we had our embryos PGS tested). We never did a social media announcement and I kept photos and talk of the baby off of there. We just wanted it to be our own private thing. After 12 weeks we would tell people in person and once I got bigger it was pretty obvious. 😊
We aren't waiting as long this time because of doing pgs. I think we are announcing memorial weekend. I will be 8 weeks.
I announced to my three best friends and family (stepmom, dad and siblings) the same day I received a positive test. They knew we were having trouble TTC and when we did our IUI so they were all waiting for the result.
My SO waited to tell his friends and family around week 8 when we had ultrasound pictures.
We announced it was twins at week 22. We wanted to make sure we were past the window for vanishing twin syndrome and closer to viability.
We never did a social media announcement.
@donn1419 that’s awesome! I’m also further in this pregnancy than with my 2 losses, by a whole week now! It’s an amazing feeling and I also feel so good about this one (2 actually it’s twins!), we actually got to see heartbeats this time 💗💗
We are thinking of telling family at 10 weeks and friends around 12 weeks. Because we've m/c 2 times we don't want to tell anyone sooner then we have to. I'm feeling good about this one though, I'm at 6 wks and so far, we are farther then both pregnancies I had and lost!
Not sure if we will post on social media right away... we'll see!
I’m debating this right now too. We’ve already told our parents, siblings, and best friends, but I’m not sure when to tell extended family and friends. I’m thinking 12 weeks would’ve best especially considering I’ve had 2 losses. But it’s so tempting to announce on Mother’s Day, but I’ll only be 9 weeks... ugh I can’t decide
We just told our best friends at 9 weeks. Our close family as soon as it happened and then around 12/13 weeks for the public/social media announcement...
