Effective ways to show a toddler you mean business? I don’t believe in hitting them? Time out? If…

Time out works for mine, for now. Usually just a firm "No" or "That's Enough". He's usually only in time out for a minute or 3. Just long enough for me to be able to tell by his whining that I know he knows he's done something wrong

I definitely understand. My 3yr old works me out I just make him lay down for 10 minutes and most time he fall asleep

No joke, I started using different octaves and my daughter always respond to one voice and stops. When she’s going crazy I hold on to her arms and get down to her level, look her in the eye and tell her to stop and why. She’ll cry and stop. I hope this helps

I’m with @sunflowerfields, that’s the only way I ever got my niece to pay attention to adults. She’s very well behaved now and listens to the adults in her life. But I did EXACTLY what sunflower did.
