Have any of you ladies had the fetal Fibronectin test done and failed? Did they find a reason for…

A fetal fibronectic test is either negative or positive and is done to determine preterm labor. My doctor said if it’s negative then it’s unlikely that you will go into preterm labor with my first mine came back positive and went into preterm labor at 35 weeks

@mariacardnz123, yeah mine came back positive but I also have a infection, but the pain is coming back and cramping and I’m worried. I’m gonna call my OBGYN soon to see if I’m just stressing

I had one at 28 weeks because I was 2 cementers dilated mines came back negative but I was put on bed rest and I'm now almost 38 weeks and still 2 cementers dilated.

@alicianoelle, oh wow, still on bed rest I’m guessing also?

My cervix is still at 3, but I keep having theses issues and the test coming back like that worries me.. sucks

@alicianoelle, sorry to hear that but I’m glad to hear your so much closer now. The most they told me is I’ll have to stay at the hospital for abit if it keeps up

Is this a standard test? Is it a standard test for twins (wondering cause I know I might get a "if you are high risk" answer to my first question, and I'm having twins). And when do they normally do the test and what does it consist of?

@ohnstadk, I’m not quite sure, I know they did mine bc I was having symptoms but I believe I’ve read ladies having it around 32 weeks and all they did was swab me. They said it has to do with a protein u make normally before labor and if it’s there u come back positive for preterm.. that’s all I know, sorry can’t help more

@joyfulmom2b, yes definitely call your OB did they give anything for infection?

@mariacardnz123, yes I got a IV for my kidney and antibiotics for my UTI and I was doing better that day and the day after and now I’m having pains again

Going back to the hospital now 😒 hope tests come back with better news this time
