Breastfeeding mamas. Did you let your babies use you as a pacifier or only let them on the boob strictly when they were hungry? Why or why not? I love watching the face my son makes when he's laying on my chest and starts looking for a boob. But I keep getting told not to let him use me as a binky.
I kinda wish i wouldn't of let osha use me as a pacifier. Only because of how hard it is now to get her to sleep in her own bed we also co-sleep. But i truly enjoy the bonding!!! Shes a year old now
@maesmommy04 I carried lo around in a sling. That seemed to comfort him and I could get more done.
Or id wait til he was fully asleep, and unlatch him and slip away making sure he was in a safe place to sleep
@maesmommy04 lol. Just let him on it. If he's deep asleep you can still try to take him away and lay him on a pillow
I put baby to breast even if it was just comfort nursing. Ie paci.
Doing this builds strong bonds and feel good hormones lije oxytocin and establishes strong milk supply
@0711_sandra see he always falls asleep on the boob. So it's hard to tell with him sometimes
Do what you think is right. Sometimes I let her on my Boob and she falls asleep. But most of the time when she's full she gets fussy and want to get burped lol.
Totally on demand with my son. Sometimes he just needs the comfort, sometimes he needs to eat. It gets easier as they get older because you can redirect but cluster feeding when they’re young is very real.
Babies nurse for many reasons, not just because they are hungry/thirsty. They nurse because they are hungry, thirsty, scared, sick, bored, because they miss you, for comfort, etc.
Pacifiers are used to take the place of breast, not the other way around. Use your judgment.
There are times I love sitting with him and letting him nurse or suck as long as he wants. There are times when I simply can’t do that.
My baby used me as a paci which i think is a good thing
