I hate when I go to a BF support group and the LC will ask me my concerns, then when I tell them, they just tell me it’s normal and ask for any other concerns. 😒 For example, my LO is EBF, but since my surgery we have had him on a bottle (full of Breast Milk of course); now when he feeds from my breast he yanks off and on getting distracted & starts screaming & crying.
I know he’s in that age to be distracted. I get it. No I don’t have low milk supply. Yes I’ve tried putting him in different positions. No I haven’t changed my diet. I just want help. I mean does he suddenly prefer bottle feeding since it’s instant gratification or is this a phase? Don’t tell me it’s normal he’s distracted 😓 ugh...and it’s every LC too. 😔

He might be use to the bottle, just don’t give it to him. He won’t starve himself. You just gotta be persistent.

I’m sorry. I don’t have an answer for it. BUT, my daughter does the same thing. She just turned 6 months. I’m constantly having to switch positions when she eats. So, maybe it is a phase? 🤔

@glencoco, I’m really trying, I just feel so bad when he gets impatient and starts screaming and crying and turning away from my breast. I want to feed him & I know he’s hungry but he gets in this fit of crying 😔

It’s definitely possible. My husband gave my daughter a pacifier when she was a baby while I was I work. Just a few hours. When I got home she didn’t eat for 11 hours.

@morgyporgypudninpie, he was on the bottle 4 days because my surgery & because it was too painful to BF him. ☹️ I didn’t have enough milk so I did half & half of milk & formula. He already has two teeth on the bottom that are almost done being developed. Other than that there aren’t any other teeth coming in

@morgyporgypudninpie, yeah I was trying to nurse him for awhile & it was an ongoing battle of him pulling off & screaming & sucking a little bit & not. Finally I gave him a bottle & sucked the whole thing down without a problem & stopped with his crying fit

Don’t give him the bottle anymore. He will settle down and nurse.

Unfortunately the bottle flow and nipple flow are completely different bottle gives faster flow and the baby liked that so it’s hard to go back
