#hieveryone 1. My name is shauna and I’m 24 2. I’ve been with my fiancé for almost 5 years and we’re getting married in July. 3. We bought ourselves a little started home that we’re currently fixing up so we can hopefully sell and move into our forever house in a few years. 4. We have a dog named Jessie and a cat named tuna. 5. I work full time as a PSW. 6. I’m the first one in my family and friend circle to have a baby so I kind of feel alone in it. 7. I’ve suffered from depression and anxiety for as long as I can remember. I’m not currently taking anything for it and trying to manage it on my own. 8. When I get time to myself I love to watch greys anatomy! 9. Ideally I’d like to have 3 kids. 10. I love to be outdoors and we have a cottage that we love to go to whenever possible in the summer.

I was working in Optometry (visual fields) then after having baby I went back to PSW work because of the flexibility (I work nights so I don't have to pay child care for now 😂)

@starting_over39, I actually work in retirement! I am UCP trained so I administer the medication for 60 of our residents. I love it because it’s more than just personal care :)

What is UCP? I know fellow PSW who opened their own business and took the phlebotomy course.. So much you can do in regards to this line of work..

Omg I had a cat named Tuna!!He was bengal looking, totally wild too lol. this made me miss him. I used to call him Mr.Maroona (rhymes with tuna😂). I also had depression/anxiety since as long as I remember I tried meds etc but have been off the route a while now and just exercise and eat healthy and sleep at least 6 hrs if I can. Some days are always better than others and being outdoors helps alot with it too 😊

Yes I know now.. But alot of Psw's do that under a regulated nurse license amongst a few I'm house training. I currently work for a local hospice runned by the city so only 10 beds and ages vary.. More emotional than ADL

@starting_over39, it’s basically just a special course that some facilities offer through the pharmacy they use that allows PSWs to administer medication. There’s lots of rules but I work under a nurse who can delegate things to me that I wouldn’t be able to do otherwise:)
I agree! I’ve worked in LTC and community before settling where I am. It’s all so different
