Any more student nurses on here?
Heads up, I am one so if you have any complications or worries feel free to message me! 🏥
I’m just finishing my access course! Starting Uni September studying Paramedic Science!x
@3kidsandkat most people who start nursing haven't. They often come after years and do the access x
You really do need a reliable baby sitter though. And you will miss our on tons of time with your children. That's the only awful thing x
I'm sure with the access you don't do placement. I done the foundation degree before my first year of nursing and honestly actual nursing the first year work load etc I found sooo easy! Placement wise I'd dwpwbds how flexible you are. I was on nights all the time 12 hour shifts and by the time hand overs where done it worked out about 14 hours. Days are ok! If it's what you want to do you won't have many struggles. We where in uni September to December then placement from January for the rest of the year (until September) it's just like working long shifts x
Hey,
I'm starting my access September for nursing. How hard is the degree, like placement wise etc. I'm a single mum with no help I really want to do it but I've heard it's heavily placement based and an mmm feeling anxious as to how I will juggle it?
@fayekatiedouglas the only thing keeping me going was knowing I'm doing this now to give my daughter a better life and show her that if you want something you need to work hard for it. Where are you studying? Do you know what area you want to work in once you qualify?
So you should be proud! It's such a hard journey especially raising a family inbetween x
@fayekatiedouglas not gonna lie found it really difficult going back after having the year off on maternity leave but now the end is in sight I feel really proud of myself x
@fayekatiedouglas Third year :) less than 6 months and I'm fully qualified! X
@leah.bishop you'll really enjoy that x
