I went through this with my first child. Then I got close to some new moms like me and they separated themselves from me when I went through my divorce (they decided to choose sides) and I lost more friends again when my son was diagnosed with autism. Mommy life can get lonely sometimes, but it’s also a natural way for the wrong people to get weeded out of your life too.
@lulu85_18, oh I’m sorry to hear that, choosing sides? That’s horrible. That’s true though, i know they would stay with me if they were my true friends. But I just feel so lonely and my bf has all these friends that are so excited for him to have a baby and all my friends are leaving me. I didn’t even have many friends to begin with and now I feel like I have none. It sucks but I guess that’s life 😩
If they’re slipping, they aren’t your friends. Selfish people don’t know how to react when the rest of us decide that someone else’s life is going to be more important than our own. Join some local mommy groups and make new, real friends. It gets better 😊
I’m sorry to hear your friends slipping away, I’m actually going through something similar but friends slipped away before I was prego and now that I am I know I definitely won’t be reaching out. I know what you mean my child’s father has an abundance of friends (sometimes I get jealous). I’m hoping with time I meet more mothers either on here or somewhere.
@mrschanandlerbong95_bb, I know, I just wish he was here already so I wouldn’t feel so lonely. I have my boyfriend and my family but they all work the time and I don’t so I’m always alone. I just feel so awkward joining a mom group because I am only 21. Idk, I hope it gets better. It really sucks
@ashg26, I get jealous too. I was at a bbq at my bfs friends house today and he knew everyone and I was just standing there awkwardly bc I didn’t know anyone. And none of his or my friends have kids yet because he’s only 23 and I’m 21. I hope I eventually meet new mom friends, I would love to make friends with people I have more stuff in common with.
@wyatt-mommy, I totally get that, I’m in the same boat. I don’t talk to any of my girlfriends anymore bc we are all so different and either got into a fight or drifted apart. It’s so hard to even keep up with the little friends I do have now, I never want to see anyone bc it’s hard to relate to them. All my friends do is party and since I’m pregnant I hate being around it. I feel so grown up for my age, not a lot of people around me have kids young.
