So, my son was breastfed until he was about 21-22 months old, and thankfully he finally weaned. Lately he has been going down my shirt feeling for my boobs and saying he wants to “look”... is it normal for him to regress a bit? I’m nervous that he will want to nurse when he sees me nursing the new baby and that is NOTTTTTT happening. I’ve been getting the “let down” feeling a lot lately too and leaking so I don’t know if he recognizes the smell or what. I’m new to this, don’t judge me. Lol

He probably recognises the smell. My niece was extra cuddly to me Whenever I would leak. (she was breast fed) so I think the smell is what might have attracted him.

@shorty02, I think the only reason he weaned is because I was pregnant and my milk started drying up! I had gotten it down to only nursing at night finally, and then it would also help if my SO put him to sleep in a different room, that way he’d go to bed without nursing to sleep. It was definitely a process girl, at 8 months my son wouldn’t even eat solids, he was boob only!

@mommytotheo, that’s relieving to hear. I’ve been super anxious about nursing a new baby in front of him, I’m hoping he doesn’t feel hurt or sad by it. We nursed for so long, and it created such a unique and special bond, I don’t want to break his little heart. He hasn’t even cared since he weaned up until now.

Oh wow! Hell eat solids but for a few moments then back to boob. I just wanna sleep at night without him waking up looking for boob. Or only going baxk to sleep with my boob in his mouth. Im exhausted lol

@morgyporgypudninpie, that must be it. I mean it was his source of comfort and food for soooo long, so it’s completely understandable. I just hope he adjusts well to me nursing his sister.

@shorty02, all I can say is, it will get better eventually and I know that doesn’t help because I absolutely hated hearing that. If your little one is taking solids that’s at least a good sign, and as he gets older he may become less dependent on the boob, especially after 1 yr where he’ll likely be wanting to try more solids. If you haven’t already, look into baby led weaning! I tried it and it didn’t work for us, but a lot of moms swear by it helping the process of weaning after year 1.
