@lnkedupmommy, nope, they gave me Cytotec to help thin my cervix so it wouldn’t be so bad. And told me to take some ibuprofen before coming in. So mine is in for 10-12 years and is none hormonal and is effective immediately. But I can take it out when ever

Which are you getting? I had the Paraguard put in yesterday and it wasn’t as bad as the reviews put it out to be

I have the 5 year one, it’s not bad at all, it’s weird but nothing different then pregnancy check ups really.

Never know it’s there. Don’t have to remember it for 5 years. And still can have kids if you want it removed early.
