If you just let your doctor know you need some medications they will put you on something pregnancy friendly. Just make sure you do your research though because most psych meds are not good during pregnancy as they can cause problems in development or they can cause with drawl in the baby. All my meds I was on were not pregnancy friendly at all, and being that we are ttc soon I figured it would be best to be off mine. So far 5 months and I’m doing pretty good. Good luck mommy ! I am too scared to be on something during pregnancy. I switched to just talk therapy by itself. I’m able to manage it without it.

Def talk to your doctor about it. I make no judgments against women who continue to take it because sometimes it can’t be managed with just therapy. After the birth of my first son, my postpartum was so bad, I was on Paxil right away.

See what your options are. A common one I’m hearing about that is safe during pregnancy is Wellbutrin. It personally didn’t work for me. Doctors are more likely to keep you on a medicine they know has worked for you in the past then try a new med when you’re in the middle of a pregnancy.

Make a list of any antidepressants and anti-anxiety meds you’ve ever been on, and discuss it with your doctor. Hope things get better, hun. ❤️

I would look for a safe antidepressant! Not everyone can just stop taking something. Depression puts of a chemical in your body and it could cause harm to your baby as well and your state of mind. If you can not take something than awesome. Many are lucky to stop but remember if you suffer from depression you can suffer from postpartum depression after birth. My 1st I didn't need them and I started my meds right after birth, this time my midwife and I discussed starting at 36 weeks. Good Luck and I hope you find the right way gor you!

@gerianndestiny, most of them can cause with drawls in the baby it says it right on the bottle. And some can actually cause the baby to have issues such as growing or other genetic mutations. But it’s best to discuss that with your doctor to see what is best for you
