I would be careful taking the day after pill. That can really mess with your body. Way way worse than any birth control.

@jhalsted1995, I've taken it on many occasions before and I never really noticed anything. This birth control and them switching it a lot I'm over it. My period is all out of whack again and my body just feels off. Half the time I feel bi polar because they keep switching and I finally like get adjusted to one and then they switch me to something else and I can't anymore and it just seems stupid when I'm not even having sex. I'm kind of like should I just wait it out and wait to get adjusted to the one and make sure they don't switch me again ( my insurance is who is switching me)

@missjess, I was talking more about the long term side effects. Because it’s so concentrated, it really can mess with your long term fertility and overall health. That’s why it’s not meant to be used as a primary form of birth control. It’s not nearly as effective as other hormonal birth control and loses its effectiveness the more you use it.

@jhalsted1995, sigh idk what to do :( I've taken the day after pill a lot over the years. Not like every time I've had sex but in necessary situations. I've never really been on birth control for a long period of time. A few years ago I went on the Depo shot to see if it would help with another health issue and it didn't and I was only on it a few months and I went off it. I thought he had put me on another birth control pill instead but it wasn't birth control and that's how I got pregnant lol I had NO idea I wasn't on birth control until after I had my son and he told me what I was on wasn't BC. Otherwise I've never been on bc until now and when I was in HS for a short time to help regulate my period. So idk what to do :/ I'm so sick of feeling off and crAzy and my periods being so messed up. My bf is good with condoms so I know that won't be a problem if I'm not on bc I just feel torn on if I should stay on or go off. And I may want more kids some day I don't want it to prevent that from happening

@missjess, you could try the non-hormonal (copper) IUD

To scared to get one. I was good with the pill I'm on now but they switched me to another one and then I asked to be switched back so I'm just all jumbled.

@missjess, well maybe just give it some time for your body to readjust.
