It can take up to 5 days for some women to get their milk! Congrats and good job!

@kambam, yeah logically I understood that but as a mom it’s hard to watch my baby in the nicu only because she’s not feeding 😕 so I’m glad it happened sooner

Definitely a relief. I hope she can go home soon as possible. Prayers 🙏

Yes! I remember catching drops in the surrenge & being be discouraged. I wish I was more focused and less stressed at the time because my milk would've still been flowing.
CAS·
@danyellehouse56, once I relaxed and got some sleep, ate a good meal it flowed like nobody’s business 😂

@bebefever94 Yes taking care of yourself and eating for sure helps too, but I know for the next one that I'll do my best to take care of myself better and think of my babies wellbeing. Breastfeeding is awesome!!

I had the same problem until one of my hubby’s friend (who does something pharmaceutical) said that ibuprofen or Motrin reduces milk production. I was taking it mostly to reduce inflammation but less than a day after stopping it I noticed that my milk was actually starting to come in. Also, constantly be drinking water. They say half of your weight in water (just swap the lbs to oz)

Same person introduced me to the app lactmed that tells you what pills are or aren’t safe while breastfeeding

@emilyinsd, thank you I didn’t know that. I’m taking it for swelling and pain I’ll have to reconsider maybe

@bebefever94, I didn’t know either until after I was home. You could try smaller doses or spread out a bit more if you have bad swelling
