My son is 2, and drinks 3-4 bottles from 12-9am. I brush his teeth every day. Every morning. Sometime at night. His front teeth have decay. A little. But when I brush them it goes away.

My son is 14 months, he only takes a bottle during night time and @simply_mee, He gives me a hard time when I try brushing his teeth but today is the day all bottles going in the trash. My niece had to get several of hers removed for the same thing

@uncouth, I rarely give him juice but like you just said my mom goes against my wishes as well and gives him sweets and unlimited amounts of juice when she visits smh

Thankfully I was able to get my son off the bottle a little after he turned 1 and if he ever really needs anything to drink at night it's water in his sippy and I rarely let him.

My sons ped has been telling me to stop him from drinking milk and juice even through his sippy cup through the night but that’s the only way he will sleep 😩😩 it’s so hard. When I noticed the decay I threw away his bottles as well so now it’s been a big change

@uncouth, wow. My son has sensory issues as well. How old is your son? I have to fight him just to brush his teeth lol

@jaidensmommy, mine too. His ped said it’s their way of soothing themselves back to sleep I haven’t noticed any decay but I’m still throwing them all away

My sister had this happen as well. Her dad and grandma would give her bottles of apple juice for nap time and bed time. Her teeth rotted out, she started getting pus pockets in her gums as well. My mom was eventually able to take her to see a dentist. He was very upset with the condition my sister was in. He had to remove her front teeth and give her different meds to heal everything. And even though they were her baby teeth, it was still a big deal. And then because her baby teeth were removed early, her grown up teeth came in early and it was painful and she was teased by some kids because her grown up teeth were so big in her mouth. It was horrible to watch her go through it all.
