How on Earth do I get my child to go to sleep and stay asleep? This is killing me, I get her up at 7am or 7:30am every morning. Yet she refuses to take a nap no matter what I try and she then refuses to go to sleep at night, takes 4 hours to get her to stop fighting it. She make herself sick by screaming and fighting to go to sleep. I DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO ANYMORE!!!!!

My daughter was like that so I tried the cry it out method. Breaks my heart but she's out in 5 minutes now

I used the cry it out method but read it can be traumatizing if you let them cry like that for more than 10 minutes at a time. I’d talk to her pediatrician to make sure nothing else is wrong and just rock, sing and hold her until she falls asleep. I got my son into a bedtime routine and that’s really important too.

@karensmommy we tried the cry it out method, she will literally cry for hours, and me make her self puke from getting worked up. We even tried just going in there every 15 minutes to reassure her that she was okay.

@inkedsouthernbelle I know she has ear infections that we've been fighting with, antibiotics don't help, she's getting tubes in on Wednesday. Otherwise her Dr says she's fine

@1xmom, have you tried putting breast milk in them? You can use that for most any ailments. Poor thing that’s what’s keeping her up all night and it may be irritating her ears when she lays down. You could set her upright on your chest, rock her to sleep and then place her on one of those infant, head molding pillows to have her stay elevated some. I got my son a baby swing and he slept in that all night for 2 months. Maybe you could just try relocating her to something like that instead of a crib or bassinet

@inkedsouthernbelle my daughter is 1year and 4months old, she hasn't been breastfeeding since she was 6months old due to my milk supply drying up. I tried everything but I couldn't get it back. She sleeps in a toddler bed because she refused to sleep in a crib, she doesn't like being caged in. I have tried elevating her head, we've had to go to ear specialists for months before they agreed to do the tubes and in the past 10 months she's had multiple ear infections and fluid behind her ears that won't drain like it's supposed to which is what's causing the infections and they've tried 4different antibiotics non of which worked.
