Please someone tell me if I’m nuts or not:
My husband has been deployed since our son was almost 2 months old. It’s been just Aiden and I all this time and since my husbands been gone, I’ve finally gotten Aiden on a sleep schedule. He’s asleep by 7pm every night. My husband just told me “oh no that’s way too early, it’ll be 8 when I get home”. Am I nuts for feeling anxious (I also have ppa) and flustered when he said that, then I told him “no his bed time is 7.” I also told him “I don’t think you understand. I’m finally used to it just being him and I so the idea of you coming home and changing everything I worked so hard to achieve, makes me flustered.” His response starts with “no you don’t understand, I’m just trying to compromise.” I feel like I shouldn’t have to compromise! But I know that probably sounds immature 😓 it’s just how I feeeeel.
It makes me want to cry cause he’s not getting that I’m not trying to argue. I’m trying to tell him how it makes me feel.

But does such a young child need to be up so late?

He needs to understand that you’ve established a routine with your son. But I get that he also wants to see him when he comes home too. You’re not nuts.

I feel like he's being kind of selfish in the situation. You and your son already have a routine established and he's going to come in and fuck it all up.

He might need reminding it’s not about what he wants, it’s about what’s best for your son, but with that being said 7pm for a baby is very reasonable, my son is 2 and goes to bed at 7:30 every night! Don’t change what works, babies like routine and everyone will be happier for it!

@memybumpandi, that’s what I’m saying!

@thequeen, he says it now, but once those little eyes begin to close he wont wake him up!!

@db413, @rikki., @roth1321, I told him to go ahead and try so he can see for himself how Aiden gets. He gets sleepy/cranky starting at 6! Sometimes I selfishly keep him up like 15-20minutes past 7 just cause I spent all day at work and don’t want to stop holding him. But he’s eyes rolling type of tired by 7 on the dot. I think it would be completely wrong of us to try and make him stay up longer.

@thequeen, if you’re willing to at least try it. Then he can’t be mad when it doesn’t work. We have an 8 - 830 bed time here

He’ll see when he gets there. Post deployments are difficult because you’re both used to a certain schedule. I tell my husband if he wants to change things he can take charge and deal with the baby overnight. His mind changed immediately lol

@db413, yeah I think that’s what I’m going to do.
