Anyone here have gestational diabetes? If so do you have any symptoms from it? My midwife says it’s unlikely and way too early to “have it” at 15 week’s but lately I’ve felt very glittery and heart racing and exhausted after meals. I have chronic low bp but it’s never given me any symptoms (even in my first pregnancy) so they don’t think it’s that. Anyone else experience this?
@blessed.mommy, hmm. We’ll see what my A1C blood work looks like when I get it done Monday. Fingers crossed it’s ok. Ugh I’m nervous though bc it’s after almost every meal as of yesterday 😬
@blessed.mommy, did the chocolate help? Bc I thought it was GD initially bc the first episode was after sugary candy.
@blessed.mommy, how early on did you get those symptoms? The midwife told me most don’t get symptoms and acted like mine aren’t common for GD 🤔
@allanajackson88, haha well then I hope it’s nothing! The upside is it’s mostly just watching your carbs for the most part and sugars. So fruit is limited. I know with me they sent me to a dietician who can help map out meals and options with you being on a special diet. But hopefully that won’t be the case!
@littleonemorning, thanks! I hope not bc I already don’t eat dairy, soy, or gluten, or anything enriched w synthetic vitamins so I don’t feel like adding any more restrictions to the mix 😂
@allanajackson88, good luck! It’s not the worst thing to have it. A pain because you can’t over indulge in a lot of things like you want, but easy to control. Good luck!
@littleonemorning, yea I asked her that and she just said there’s more blood flow but didn’t acknowledge the feeling like my heart rate is fast lol they’re testing my A1C level to see what my sugars have been over the last few months. So we’ll see.
@allanajackson88, I would bring it up again and see if they can test you for it earlier. With that said, just up your protein and veggies and see if that helps. You could just be lacking in a certain nutrient department. Plus, I know up until 20 weeks, my heart always felt like it was beating super fast, but my doctor told me it’s normal because of the blood flow in pregnancy.
@littleonemorning, no I didn’t have it with my first and I’ve never experienced anything like this. So weird!
Just updating you ladies, after three days it stopped. Haven’t had issues since. And my blood work came back completely normal. 🤷🏼♀️
