Baby Eldijana born on 4/6/18@ 11:40am, 6lbs 14oz 19in long.
Baby girl was meant to be a csection birth on 4/11/18@ 9:30am. I woke up at 6am feeling like I was having bad had pain and to go. That’s when the “gas pains” started to come and go in intervals. Each one stronger and longer and closer together in a matter of minutes. Around 7, I began getting ready for work as I thought the pains would subside and it was just gas. That’s when my husband heard me shriek from the bathroom, one of these pains almost knocked me off my feet. He came in immediately and said “we’re going to the hospital, I’ve never heard you scream like that before. It must be labor.”
I could barely get dressed the contractions were so overwhelming and just got stronger and stronger. My husband drove our daughter to daycare & his cousin came and took me to the hospital. We arrived at 8am, I had to be wheeled up in a wheelchair I couldn’t walk the contractions became so close together and unbearable.
The L&D nurses took me right back to triage and managed to get me on the bed. I was screaming so loudly due to the pain. As she checked my cervix she stated I was at 6cm already. I was begging for pain medicine, the pain was just too much and the pressure was already beginning to build. I felt like I had to push.
They came in and set up the needle in my back for an epidural and gave me a couple shots of pain medicine. I was then taken to another room to deliver, I progressed to a 9 by the time they brought me back. There was no time to arrange for a section all of the ORs were full. They concluded I would just have to push. I was terrified, I didn’t know what to expect. All I could do was pray to god everything would be ok. I felt like a child who needed their mother there. I began to bare down and push with each contraction, without the epidural, they never hooked me up to the pump. I felt like I didn’t have it in me to push this baby out. I begged and pleaded for them to take me back for a section.
My husband was there the entire time holding my hand reassuring me that I could do this. I pushed and pushed and eventually the doctor suggested the use of a vacuum. With each contraction the OB dug into me making room for the baby’s head and attached the vacuum after pushing for almost two hours unmedicated she flew out with one last big push.
I couldn’t even look down at my babygirl I was exhausted, my eyes swollen, I heard her let out a cry. My baby girl was finally here. 💕
Congratulations!
