I told my manager on Tuesday that I'm pregnant. In my eyes she didn't react very well and said a few things that got my back up and didn't need to be said. I've had 9 days holiday off work and only popped in purely to tell her so it could sink in for when I came back to work on Friday. I'm really anxious about going into work on Friday. I'm worried she will treat me differently now.

@ezchaz there's only one problem with that. She is the big boss. I work in a corner shop and she is the owner. Another problem I have is that I've only just been there a year AND I don't ever remember receiving a contract 🙄....so I'm buggered if she gets her ass in her hand xxx

@ezchaz she doesn't pay maternity according to her the government do? I don't know how that works. Xxx

She can't treat you differently- she could get in trouble for discrimination. Have a google of pregnant employees rights. If you don't get maternity pay off her then you can apply to get the government maternity pay- I think it depends on your circumstances to which you're eligible for! Try not to worry xx

no worries. she is also a woman and she can understand. but if she can't, it means she is not a good leader and you can consider to change a job after the baby is born.
