Can You Schedule a C-Section Earlier Than 40 Weeks?

When you have a planned C section do you go in 40 weeks or earlier ? I don't remember - Side note I have had three C Sections but only 1 was planned but didn't make It to the day. My first was emergency c section & my second I tried vbac , failed.. than my last It was planned but baby decided to come on her own before the date. This baby I don't know if it will try to come on his/ her own as well like the others haha but can I ask for earlier date to plan my c section so it won't happen
