I wouldn't them first few months are the best time to bond with baby, baby needs Mumma around 💕

You need to take atleast 6 weeks off to recover. Then its a matter of whether your ready to go back after that. Me and my fiance decided I would probably stay off for at Least a year then gradually return to work after that. We thought it was only right as the baby will have at Least one of us around for a while and then after that I will gradually build up doing hours when I feels the right time to leave her. You need time to build that bond xx

Time goes so fast and babies grow up so quickly, don’t waste that bonding time in work. You have the rest of your life to work xx

My boyfriend thinks the same but I’ve told him no. I want to be a stay at home mum for as long as possible, even if that means until he’s old enough for school/ nursery x

Lol. Ask him to carry a baby for 10months, give birth and go back to work as soon as 😂 What does he mean by as soon as anyway?? In all honesty there's no best time. If you have the luxury to choose then it's when you feel ready. And you really won't know how you feel until the time. If you have to go back to work finanically, then hopefully you can at least take the 9months-1year maternity leave. It's rare for a mother to go back straight after but not unheard of. I certainly couldn't do it. I took 15months off with Morgan and was more than ready by then. I went back when Max was 9months.

@sara-lou86, I think he means have the baby and start looking for work 😂 like that ain’t going to happen I think he’s gotta he joking if he ain’t were going to have problems lol and I was thinking at least a year or 2 off and then focus on work but yeah I didn’t think Mother’s went straight back to work that would be weird wouldn’t it personally I wouldn’t want too! I’m having 9 months off. Do you have a baby sitter? The baby will need his mum a lot to start with. X

I always said I wanted to be a stay at home mum until my children were at school. I lasted 15months! 😂 As much as I enjoyed my time with Morgan, we both needed something else. I don't know how SAHM's do it! I found a part time job which suited us all.

So yeh, ita be good for you both to sit and & talk about your options. He'll soon realise the reality of having a baby! Lol

@sara-lou86, aww that’s alright then sometimes can break up the week a bit I suppose :) and yeah I’m sure he will come round he’s so slow sometimes but he normally does catch up eventually 😂😂 bless him!! xx

Also if your at work and have no family to watch baby then you'll be looking at nursery fees which are often £50-£70 a day. Ask him if he's paying that? Lol

I didn't 6 months off and I was full time but now I do 3 days a week I couldn't afford to be off work longer than 6 months and 3 days is just enough
