Are contractions before active labor supposed to be painful?? I’ve been timing them for the last hour and they are about 12 minutes apart lasting about a minute to a minute and a half (if I’m doing this right) but they aren’t painful.. my stomach just get really tight and occasionally I get sharp pains in my vag but I’m not hunched over dying from them. Is this what I am supposed to feel? I’m so confused..

I think it's different for everyone. Some of my contractions aren't that bad others I been having feel like they're wrapping around from my lower back to lower abdomen, make me lose my breathe but I'm not dying.

It depends on the woman but they all heart. Contractions are u comfortable in my opinion actually labor and delivery is painful!

It depends ... you will also feel extreme butt pressure or vagina pressure like urge to push my back was hurting so bad ... did u call labor and delivery ... you can be dilating but you should call
