I am 14w2d today. Last Thursday being 13 weeks i was scheduled for a nuchal translucency scan on the back of my babies neck. They said anything over 3mm results in chromosome defects or heart defects. My babies scan came out to 4.1mm. They sent me in right after talking to a genetic counselor to get blood work done. I am still waiting for the results and im completely sick to my stomach about this. I am 22 years old and doctors said this is rare in women under the age of 35. Has anyone else gotten results like this and the readings be false? I’ve read all over the internet these tests can be read wrong pretty commonly and that many women have experienced this and there’s babies have been healthy. Also that many moms regret getting this scan because it made their entire pregnancy hell when everything was fine. I am to far along to get a cvs test but this Monday will be far along to get a amino test. Has anyone else experienced anything similar to my experience? I’d like to hear mother’s stories on this topic.
