I’m going to be looking for a nanny who will be working 4a.m -5:30,6:00p.m for my son who’s almost 2. Question is what qualifications should I ask for? Questions to ask for? I don’t want to over do it and this will be the first time my son is left with a babysitter. I want to make sure I go about this in the right way so he is well taken care of !(: please help!(: Also it will be in my home.

if the time u need them are they available? have they taken care of kids before ? ask for references ! are they ok with being in ur home ?

I'm a teacher now- but before I was an administrator for a daycare... Although it was an actual daycare (not looking for a nanny) I can tell you some of the questions would ask and ones I feel necessary for your situation... 1) What are your qualifications? 2) Are you CPR trained? 3) Are you okay with sending me updates throughout the day via text? 4)Do you have references? 5) Have you previously cared for other children- if so why are you no longer with them? Then I'd just go along with the conversation and feel it out... Make sure she understands exactly what you're wanting and looking for...

@danielzamor2007, I completely agree. I was a teacher and have been babysitting since I was 11 years old. I would say first aid/ cpr is very important. Find someone you are comfortable with when you are speaking to them. The good questions for them to ask you are, is there any allergies? What specifications are you looking for? Is there anything I need to know about your child or your home? If they don’t ask these at minimum they are not the right fit for you.
