Did anyone have a health visitor come out for 'an initial assessment' before baby was born? Little worried as i didnt…

Ive got health visitor coming on monday. She said on the phone they usually come out to introduce themselves and give out some information. Feeling nervous for it to be honest x

I should of had 1 but they missed me because I moved around the same time.

@rachaellw so its normal then? Just seemed very intrusive, asking about my mental health history and wanted me to go into detail, or both mine and babies dads and i was just confused by it all xx

@laurenjaynebutcher, I think they just want to get the back ground information so if you have previous mental health it’s just something they will keep a eye out and may give you extra visits. There only there to give you help and support. Definitely take all the help they give id say x

@rachaellw okay thank you, was just worried about it all as it seemed very intrusive! I had depression when i was 14 and thats what she wanted to concentrate on, but it never mattered with my first! @sarahgreenwood1992 the visit itself wasnt too bad, she didnt check anywhere she asked about our famiĺy and where i plan on baby sleeping ect but that was all then gave me leaflets about feeding and sleeping x

I had depression when i was 18. My auntie said her health visitor always wanted to know how she was doing so maybe its just to identify if any extra support is needed. X
